Front - Rear Tourque Bias

Intuitively (and in my case there ain't much when it comes to differential
guts), if you have an open diff with a mechanical locking device (our
beloved lockers, thinking of center diff here) whose natural torque split
under equal traction conditions (all four wheels with same traction) is NOT
50-50, if you lock it, how does it become 50-50? I would think that it would
lock at its natural open torque split ratio. That's why I thought the split
was 50-50 under open conditions too, subject to wheelspin issues of course.

Someone please prove me wrong or explain why I'm right or something!!

Cheers,

On the pre Torsen units it was only 50-50 when the center differential
was locked. Without it locked I thought it was 60-40 biased towards the
front
