AC Fittings seal? on York '87 4kq compressor

As I',m finally getting to the finals on "Project GTQ", I'm installing a new condenser, converting to R134.  As the hoses were disconnected when I got the car, I don't know if the fittings at the compressor had O-rings or just make a compression fitting seal.  They might even use crush washers, but I doubt it.

Anyone know off hand if the hoses that screw into the top of the compressor use O-rings or other seal?

The compressor is a YORK and is from an '87 4000 Quattro.
