Drew,
Welcome to the list and congrats on the purchase ... I hope it turns out to
a good car for you. No doubt you get enough snow in Guelph to appreciate
the all wheel drive.

After run pump ...
Not really needed ... the pre-86 turbo engines didn't have one. Yes, it is
supposed to come on routinely based on under hood temperature.. It's
recommended to let the engine idle for a few minutes after sprirted driving
before shutting it off... recommended even with the afterrun pump.

Leaking hydraulic pump ... fairly easy to replace the O-rings. The Bentley
for 89 and newer cars has a good write-up on the procedure. I think this
write-up is missing from the Bentley for earlier model years. There ae
also many posts on this topic in the archives. It is possible to screw
this up so pay attention to Bentley. For example, it is necessary to
pre-fill the pump with fluid upon re-install, other wise I think the pump
would be wrecked. There is also a procedure to follow for bleeding air
from the system.

Another thing which you may not really need ... maybe it's already missing
from your car, is the injector cooling fan and plenum ... the plastic thing
that directs cooling air over the injectors and fuel lines to prevent vapor
lock. These plastic things tend to fall apart and not get replaced. No
doubt they are useful under certain conditions, but I removed mine a couple
of years ago because it took up so much room and always seemed to be in the
way. I planned to put it back if I started having problems with vapor
lock, but it hasn't happened even once.
