Finally got her running, here's the laundry list of what i did. replaced ecu
temp sender, check valve and fuel pump and filter(used 90/2.3l style), used
airflow meter and dpr from cis-e, distributor, lines and injectors and fpr
from cis-e3.
the verdict: start's cold with a tiny(really microscopic) shot of carb
cleaner or a manual bump to the csv, still need to figure that one out. will
start after that w/o bump for about 10-15min. Thermotime? where the heck is
it? bentley doesn't outline that very well.
Runs like a champ, responds well to throttle, needs some fine tuning to get
the idle set, but all around pretty good. So you can run a cis-e3
distributor and injectors on the cis-e system. all that you need to do is
up the system pressure. E system DPR is more than capable of handling the e3
distributor and added pressure.
One odd thing, after it warms up and temp is up to normal, temp will shoot
up, blows some white smoke out the exhaust, and then temp settles down to
normal with a little throttle. Fan hasn't come on for more than a couple
seconds yet. Fan switch? air in the system? thermostat?! any BTDT's welcome.
Huge thanks to everyone for all your help and advice!
maybe i've invented a new system here, cis-e2?! in an 87 1/4 coupe?!!! lol
