WAS re. octane question IS what octane per cam

Now that's more radical than I'm familiar with for street applications in a
N/A setup. My understanding after doing some basic cam research is to save
the hotter cams(over 270) for the track as you'll incur poor lower RPM
drivavbility. Also higher lift and duration that can experience great gains
in higher compression motors are not as beneficial in lower compression
engines. These are generalities of course - check with Elgin re. a grind
recommendation for your specific application. I'm sure that once you get
over the not so rock steady idle, the 276 will really take off at higher
RPM!

The comments I made regarding octane may also not apply in this case either,
but I suspect higher octane may be helpful.
