sure.  the BMW owners i have contact with are enthusiasts, not the idiots 
that keep buying high-margin cars like the X and 7er, that let bmw afford to
build the fun cars like the M3 :)

IOW, the BMW listers and Roundel magazine readers generally lean more towards
the performance side than the buttered-ass-and-shiny-logo side.  That's why
there's little attrition to Mercedes in the circles I follow :)
