Wow, old footage. That was the 2003 race, and Jeff Gordon is the NASCAR driver your talking about. Team USA actually won it Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (also NASCAR), and Colin Edwards (World Superbike Champion). It's a great event with lots of action every year too. My favorite story from this past one was actually involving Gordon too. Gordon was given the privalige to ride passenger in Marcus Gronholms WRC car through the Nations Cup course. While rolling up to that starting line Gordon expressed concern at the windows being up (most US racing requires windows down or removed). He said over the radio "Marcus, won't the windows break if you roll or something?", to which Marcus replied "No, they never have!". At the start Marcus tears off and goes into turn 1 with a full head of steam, clips the inside burm and proceeds to put the car on its roof. While hanging upsidedown by the harnesses Marcus smiles and says "See I told you the windows wouldn't break!". Jeff was pretty u!
pset with himself too, because he "jinxed" Marcus, but they were both ok and got over it.

>I saw someone a few days wonder what she was up to lately.
>On speed today they quickly mentioned that she was an organizer of the Nation's Cup a race they were showing. In this they took three drivers from three disciplines from each nation and put them in provided identical cars and competed on a track similar to a rally special stage. Thought it was going to funny watching a big name (forgot who) nascar driver (since we had no big name rally drivers) screw up, but after a bit he was doing well.
