'88 5kcstq autocheck computer coolant warning

Hi list,

It's been a while since I've had to post a 5kcstq question, but I'm there again.

My '88 5kcstq gives the flashing warning about coolant, but it's not overheated and it's not low.  I unplugged the expansion tank sensor, and the warning continues.  Does that mean it is the overheat signal from the MFTS?  

Does the low coolant sensor default to a warning or no warning when it is unplugged?  I'm thinking no warning, because it took a bit before the light came on a few times.

I've got that issue and a leaking rack that are keeping the autocheck computer from staying quiet.
