How to open doors?

It sounds like not just one, but two of the "little plastic buggers" 
broke off, since neither inside nor outside handles work.  My best idea 
it to fish around inside the door with a coat hanger.  It may help to 
take the other door apart and practice on it so you can see where you 
need to aim the coat hanger to catch the metal rod...  good luck!
(When I had non-functioning locks, I kept accidentally getting the door 
release rod instead of the lock release rod, so I know this is possible :)
