86 coupe what seems to be missing cyl num 2-3

No Audi plug wires I've seen would allow me to see a spark when pulled, 
the connection is two inches up inside the boot.

You pulled the fule distributor, you even pulled the head - what about 
the distributor cap?  Triple check the firing order?

I doubt it, it is almost certainly cylinder specific.  of course, you 
tested everythign you could, swpping plug wires, injectors, etc - the 
only thing you didn't mention was the cap/rotor, and the cap has 
cylinder specific contacts in it.  It's a wild shot, and maybe you 
already checked, but it's easy to do.
