Jeff,

Why don't you use your original ECU and desolder the OEM chips and then 
solder in a pair of sockets in their place.  This will allow you to changes 
chips sets at will with very little hassle and/or effort.  I did that with 
mine upon the installation of my first chip set (several sets back) and 
have been very glad I did it.

In fact, I didn't do the actual socket installation myself.  A local TV 
repairman did it for me for $25.  A well spent $25 IMO.
