Thanks for the welcomes, guys. And I appreciate the links to the resources, too. I've been to a few, but I'll definitely commit them all to memory (or at least bookmark them :o)
Changed the oil in the car yesterday. I think it was the easiest oil change I've ever done, bar none. Quite a pleasant experience.
The car runs great except for a few things... It's got the standard electrical gremlins that plague these cars, i.e. intermittent dash lights at night, switches, and a nice 12V drain on the battery with the ignition off. But I think with a little fuse pulling to isolate the short and rooting around with a screwdriver, multimeter, and dielectric grease, I should be able to take care of most of the issues.
The other issue seems to be a fuel starvation problem. The previous owner assured me that the fuel pump had been replaced recently, but under hard cornering and at WOT the car stumbles, and even dies if I keep on it. While cornering it almost feels like the fuel is sloshing around in the tank, away from the pickup, causing gaps in fuel delivery. Anyone had a similar problem? Ideas? I'm inclined to think fuel filter.
Thanks again, guys.
Best,
Matt S.
