Amen to that.  The plunger should fall out when the temperature sender is pulled - I've seen a
couple that were reluctant to leave and had to be pulled out with a magnetic retriever.
Always improves oil pressure response.  I'd also check the filter - I'm convinced someof the
"free flow" filters have an effect.
