I wouldn't want to buy a car from someone who thinks it's ok to try to 
start it with the cooling system dry.

Might be a nice parts car.  Buy it as that, and if you can make it run 
well, it's all gravy.

Or at least, fill it up with coolant, plug the lines that went to the 
aux radiator, and see it run.  If it won't run, it's a parts car.
