Chris,
Underhood exhaust leak - the vents draw air from under the plastic cover in
the engine bay - in front of the passenger and behind....the exhaust
manifold. Check for leaks there (most T44 EM's have cracks). If you're
driving and you feel light headed/fingernails turn blue then go and get the
leak looked into - pronto! If the exhaust manifold is cracked, there are
writeups in the archives about re-welding it - look for ones that talk about
using a barbecue to pre-heat the cast iron before welding.
My mom was almost flattened by a semi when I was a kid - the '69 Dodge
Monaco had a hole in the floor and with the window down slightly it sucked
CO into the car and put her to sleep....and the car drifted into the back
wheels of the semi and then careened into the ditch. Good thing that car
was like a tank.
Cheers!
