I've been looking for suitable things as well. Beutlich still offers the full Treser $uper 200 body kit for the type 44, and you can get the sideskirts, rear valance, and front spoiler separately. The front spoiler they have (one of three different Treser styles) isn't the one you usually see in the US. (IMHO, it's the best one) Try: www.beutlich.de
Supposedly SGI (Styinling Garage Ingolstadt) still made type 44 parts, but their site didn't have a type 44 page up last time I checked. I don't recall their URL offhand, and it doesn't have and English version, so it helps if you know German...
I've seen a homemade lip somewhere online that used 3" (IIRC) or so of the very bottom section of the factory valance, the person flipped it over and bolted the bottom surfaces together. It looked pretty good, just not quite to my tastes.
There's also tale of people using black ABS lawn edging/gutter material/etc. for spoilers, but I've only seen these used as rocker skirts.
I'm thinking of trying a piece from a 70s 5k (w/ dual rounds), it is made of the same stuff as the 4kq rear spoilers, so it should take a bit of abuse. It's kind of wedge shaped and it's actually the part that covers the _top_ of the bumper, where 80s models have the chrome strip. I don't know about attaching it, since the piece is still in the Pull-A-Part.
