Sinking clutch pedal...Update.

List, / Steve,
there is an easy trick to bleed the clutch:
- plug a 2 feet long hose (full of new fluid) to the slave's bleeder;
- put the other end in a jar containing new brake fluid
- open the bleeder
- depress the clutch pedal slowly WITH YOUR HAND.
- hold it there a second or two.
- leave the bleeder open
- slowly allow the clutch pedal to go up, slowing it WITH YOUR HAND, to
suck fluid form the master cylinder (which is full of new fluid, right?)
- repeat many times (yes, the bleeder is always open )
You'll see, with the end of the long tube in brake fluid, the slave
cylinder will choose the easiest path, that is the shorter hose to the MC.
Not my trick, I think it was initially submitted by Dan Cordon. It works.

Re: Sinking clutch pedal...Update.
The only problem I had was bleeding the clutch. I did not have access to a
pressure bleeder so we bleed the old standby way. This took forever.
I got as much air as I could out of the system but it still feels a bit
softer than I'd like.
The clutch still doesn't return smoothly at the top. It catches about an
inch from the top and then flops up. I think I must have toasted the
bushing/return spring?
On the road driving revels good overall clutch engagement. No more sinking
clutch. Just softer than I'd like.
I'm gonna try to pressure bleed it sometime this week.
Steve
