Well, it's true of the older Type 44s, so I'm going
take a guess that your A6 is old enough to experience
the same condition.  On older cars, the wires in the
door jamb, inside the rubber boot, get brittle and the
open/close action causes the wires to break. Since
there are wires in the driver's door that work every
window, that's the first place I'd look.

And I seem to recall that a broken wire at the trunk
hinge can cause the sunroof to die.  Check the Audifans
archive.
