I would like to make a few observations while we're discussing the
merits or lack thereof of the 5KTQ:

1) not all mechanics with English accents are GOOD and HONEST Jaguar
mechanics.

2) not all mechanics with German accents are GOOD and HONEST Audi mechanics.

3) the Audi, specifically the 5KTQ has some idiosyncrasies. One is that
due to the vacuum system it won't run with the oil filler cap off. This
is the only car I've had that is like this. I learned this the easy way
by changing the oil and forgetting to put the cap back on. Car would
start fine, but wouldn't go anywhere.

The Audi 5KTQ is a good quality and superb automobile. I have abused
mine for 60,000 miles by towing it's own weight from Kentucky to
Ontario, using it in the woods to haul firewood, and with a total of
200,000 miles on it, it still starts reliably, gets 30 miles to the
gallon, and is the main family car. I wish all automobiles were junk
like the Audi 5KTQ.

Good luck.
George
