Timing belt versus chain

Not only is the 1.8T that way, just about all 4V/cyl or 5V/cyl VW/Audi
engines are like this.  So far, the only exception are:

1. The 1984 Sport Quattro, which used a belt to drive one cam, and the
   other cam is then gear-driven off the first.
2. The latest rear-chain driven Audi engines like the 4.2 V8 on the B6 S4
   and Allroad 4.2.
