'87 4kq brake pressure regulator

I've had four, they all have leaked. I have never replaced any of them, but
one did go through about a bottle of brake fluid every two months or so. I
believe bimmerzone.com has them for about $110USD

Good Day All, 

The Brake Pressure Regulator, part # 803 612 303, on my 87 4000q has taken
to leaking.  The port to the left of the regulator is weeping.  I was
wondering if this is a common problem, or if a used unit would suffice.
I've priced them and they come in at $225CAN.  If I can avoid a 2 hundred
dollar expense on a $400 car, I certainly will.  Any BTDTs?
