according to http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/relays.htm it is probably 
the idle stabilization relay...

I agree that fixing these corroded/burnt wires is probably a good idea. 
  If you happen to have the Bentley shop manual for the car it might 
help you trace these circuits from beginning to end.
