Portland, OR Mechanic Referral

My girlfriend's got a V8 Quattro that won't start, and I have been
tasked with restoring it to life (while she is out of town) via
handwaving, pleading, etc. and finally, expert assistance.

In the past, the consensus for the Portland area seemed to suggest one
"A&P Specialties", but most of those recommendations are from the
mid-90's.

Does anybody have updated information about Portland-area mechanics?
Any places I should definitely, without-fail, avoid going to or even
looking at?
