Steve - Ti nailed it, you should be able to unbolt different exhaust
sections, replacing only the muffler. If your muffler is that trashed, I'd
invest in some liquid wrench and totally drench all the bolts (let them sit
overnight after you douse them), as they're probably wasted too. It's an
easy job to do in the driveway, though, and everything is pretty visible
once you get under the car. Replace all the rubber hangers for the system
while you're under there, too. If you're really tight on cash, you may be
able to source everything (pipes, muffler, etc) you need from a junkyard
(get new bolts, gaskets and hangers), but that's assuming you can find
relatively "new" rust free parts at the scrapyard. Good luck
