Oops, my fault; it should be 15mm. Good point about the flex line to the WG too. The nuts on the WG flex line didn't even have flats to put a wrench on... just crumbly round things. I had to cut them off w/ a dremel tool. Be careful though. You don't want to cut through the studs in the WG. They are hard to find. I'm not sure but I think the originals maybe titanium alloy, so they're even harder to replace. I cut a little too much in 2 of mine, so I had to buy a bunch more than I needed from a special metric fastener warehouse. I got 316 SS which is s'posed to be stronger and more corrosion resistant than 304 or 18-8 SS. good luck.

While the spanner I believe is offset 15 mm, not 17,
and with grinded top front ring to 3 mm, another
issue is the removal of w/g pipe bottom flange if
the nuts are corroded, and even worst, cast iron
arms are there (which two of my Urq (Swiss) came
with), and one is attached to the flange. If this is
the case, the job can be real PITA, and should be
attacked first. You should also need two shorter
bolts on bellhousing if the arm is removed. BTW,
Audi advises today to remove those reinforcements.
Originally they where there to stop e/manifold
expanding, but was rather responsible for manifold
buckling and cracking, so it is removed when work on
attached parts is done. Not sure if it was used on
US cars, but it makes serious difference.
HTH,
Ado
