Massachusetts is actually the safest state in the nation, based on
per-mile travelled. The "Boston driver" myth is the same as the
"taxachusetts" myth(we're dead smack in the middle of the 50 states
per-capita)- a myth.

When I drove I-95 through northern CT southbound on a Sunday evening
a few years ago, it ranked as the most terrifying experience I've
ever had behind the wheel of my car(NJ state thruway a close second,
also unpleasant as you need to stop breathing). Defensive driving
doesn't even begin to cover it.
