Dieseling in a non-Diesel

It could be a problem w/ injectors, and you know how to check spray patterns... otherwise dieseling is usually caused by rich mixtures (maybe only at certain conditions or rpms in your case) or high idle speed. If you've fixed any vac. leaks in the past, you may need to lean down the mixture a bit. You're best bet is to check the freq. valve duty cycle or if the o2 sensor is in question a CO meter is the only way to go. good luck.

Starting a about a month and a half ago my KH/CIS powered 4ktq has
started to let out little backfires some times after I shut it down.
The first few weeks I thought it was a clunk in the drive train since it
almost always corresponded withe me letting out the clutch - meaning it
was almost 2 seconds after the engine shut down.

Most of the time it has been very faint. So much so that I thought
maybe it was a normal occurance that I could only hear due to my 3"
exhaust. It does not do it all the time, but I would say at least half
the time.

About a week ago it went a step further. It dieseled after I shut it
down. I have never had a CIS car do this.

Do these problems sound like leaky injectors? Or is there something
else going on?

Thanks in advance for the insight.
