OK - not a commercial - but I get a bit tired of the K&N "true believers". I
bought a K&N for my 99 Chevy Blazer as an experiment and have realized no
demonstrable increase in gas mileage or power. And that experiment will
bring me back to my personal standard, the Amsoil 2-stage foam air filter.
I've used these for many years.
If you're interested in a foam filter, you can now buy them direct from the
website if you wish.... www.amsoil.com. If you are interested in a foam
filter using an oil application, they're much less expensive than most and
they work very well.
Tech information about their air filters is found at:
http://www.amsoil.com/products/ts.html. This contains a diagram with a
direct performance comparison to K&N. They claim that air flow is equal to
K&N but filter life and dirt removal are superior.
If you're interested, you will want to go to their product application guide
and determine which filter fits...

Then look up the filter in their online store. Filters are found at:

A foam filter for my 99 Chevy Blazer sells for $32.30, which is about six
bucks more than a the K&N filter for that same application. The oil refill
(8 0z) for the filter sells for $3.55, which is less than half the cost of
K&N's refill kit.
YMMV.
