Electrical gremlins - 89 100

The patient is an 89 100 with automatic transmission, everything stock, no
modifications to the wiring, no accidents, etc. 

Problem #1
When I step on the brake pedal the brake lights come on like they are
supposed to, but the left >front< parking light also comes on.  

This happens with or without the key in the ignition, etc.  When I have the
headlights/parking lights turned on everything appears to be normal, but
when I push on the brake pedal the left front parking light becomes
slightly brighter.  Can anyone suggest a likley cause?


Problem #2
Speedometer/odometer is intermittent.  Most of the time it works fine, but
occasionally it doesn't work at all.  This is the electronic speedometer.
I haven't looked for the cause yet.  I'm thinking the first step is to
check the connector at the sensor on the trans ... not sure exactly where
it is located.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
