re. competition - guess the 5KTQ ICE race failure?

Don't know about the burning smell, but odds are you have a torn michelin man hose or other intake leak.  I bet you could have been back in business with some duct tape.  Let us know what you find.

[Then I smelled a nasty acrid burning smell, and lost most of my boost. The
car was topping out at 1.0 boost on the in dash gauge and 0psi on my aux
pillar gauge. it was struggling to get past 4000rpm. I could hear a
strange whistling sound when it was trying to make boost, sort of a high
pitch wavering whine.

Outside of that, off boost the car runs fine, no smoke, just no HP.]
