Actually, that isn't true. CR recommends the following used Lexus vehicles:

Lexus ES300
Lexus GS300/GS400, GS430
Lexus LS400, LS430
Lexus RX300

Will maintenance be expensive? Sure. But they are still CR Good Bets, which
are "are the best of the reliable used cars. They have performed well in our
road tests and have been consistently better than average in overall
reliability."
