Mine used to, too but not anymore.  These seem to be tender creatures. 
Apparently the calibration can go off if not at room temperature (I'm
not kidding).  There are also warnings about dropping, DK about shaking
in the car.  In any event a Snap-on torque wrench I had for awhile went
off in a bad way, clicking too late - at increased torque, and is cost
me about $140 CAN in wrecked parts, never mind the labor (mine).
