NAC. Leaking Plastic Coolant tank.

Yea, I had the same issue on my old 4ksq and performed the same solution,
using a soldering iron to weld it back together. I think this largely
depends on the type of plastic used and on it's thickness. In the case of
the audi I even used an additional strip of plastic to make a seam. This
held for about 3-4 months, but the pressure inside tank (steam) when the car
got hot eventually busted through... Replacement is the only long-term
solution I found...

How about a soldering iron and melting it back together?

able to easily put my hands on another one of these tanks and could use some
advice as to bandaging this one until I can put my hands on another. It has
developed a 1/2" long crack on one side just under a seam. Any sort of
product or bandage any of you have used to take care of a problem like this
in the short term?
