clutch woes 5kcstq

Hi all-
The good news is that my 5000 is sloooowly becoming the reliable
commuter I would like it to be. I got the cigarette lighters working
last weekend, so I can plug in my V1, so I can avoid supporting the
local economy with speeding ticket revenue, so I have money left to buy
more parts to keep this car on the road. It's the circle of life.
But now it has got a clutch problem. On my way home from work I stopped
briefly at a convenience store and returned to find my clutch pedal was
stuck on the floor. I was able to wedge my shoe under it an pull it
back into place, but now the pedal doesn't always return to the fully
released position when shifting gears. In fact sometimes it won't even
come up far enough to let the next gear to engage. The fluid reservoir
is full, and I'm not seeing any leaks. I can pull up the pedal with my
foot and that will get the clutch to engage, but I don't know how long
that trick will continue to work.
Do I have a bad master cylinder? What's the '411' on this issue?
Thanks mucho!
-Barry
