I think that is just because you need to remove the belt.

I think (again) they are just the little metal tube like bits that
"align" the head & block. They might fall out, they might stay in
place, they would have to be out of the way to do any planing.

> 1. Can the head bolts be reused?

Technically, yes. Once. They are stretch bolts though. You can eithe
re-use them if you're certain they have never been out & in before, or
just get a new set (I know, it's only money...)

> 4. Since the fuel injectors are out, what seals should be replaced? tips?

At least both seals, if not the injectors as well (miles? do it every
90k, I think the manual says)

> inserts?

If you can.

> 5. Any preferences for a valve cover gasket set?

I knew you asked that when I answered it in the other email. the rubber
ones.

> 6. Where can I use stainless steel parts, and where not?

basically, anywhere a special hardness nut/bolt is not required.

> 7. Are the exhaust manifold nuts/bolts/washers special?

Yes. get new ones form the dealer.

> 8. Does the A/C compressor need to be unbolted?

probably not - but it has to be loosened to get the belt off. I prefer
to remove them and not replace them...
