Long Life oil filters

Sam, I go 5,000 miles between oil/filter changes and use Mobil1 0w-40, based on recommendation from this list. I cannot imagine going longer, especially with a 4-cylinder engine like mine. Audi did switch to a larger (by about .4 quart) oil filter in the middle of the 2004 model year, for the 1.8T engine. It is coincidentally that same as on the old VW diesel engines.
