EAS (European Auto Specialist)
http://www.europeanautomotive.com/
shows Nissens (all-metal?) brand radiators available for $159.37.
Note: I have read reports that some people have not been happy with the
Nissens product.
IIRC, two issues have been reported:
1) Threads for the rubber mount at the bottom need to be run through with a
tap or the mount cannot be installed properly.
2) Endtank leaks have appeared after less than 2 years.
No BTDT - this is just what I read here.
Maybe someone with BTDT will chime in...?
I just ordered a AKG brand (plastic endtanks) radiator for my 1991 200q. I
figure it will be good for another 10-12 years like the original.
BTW, EAS had the best prices on the radiator I purchased with free shipping
for orders over $50. They show an AKG brand (I assume plastic endtanks) for
the 5ktq at $169.31.
In the past I put an all-metal Modine radiator in my 1986 5kcstq that fit
well and has not shown any leaks, but I understand these are NLA. Can
anyone confirm that this is true?
HTH,
Eric
