typ44 - who carries the radiator w/ the metal side/hose necks?

Correct, Nissens are pretty crappy... not worth cost savings. I also
heard Modine were better but NLA. (and that was a year and a half ago
when I went through this). The OEM, while having the plastic end
tanks, will fit nicely and hold up for > 10 years (that is the provent
track record anyway).
