This is much easier to do as the buyer. You can probably find
a half dozen <name your make and model>. Keep making low ball
offers; one of those six, who has been trying to sell for weeks,
may cave in and sell. But the (private) seller has only one
car to sell. If they price it too high, they won't get a half
dozen buyers to look at it. Their trick is to say, "This guy
stopped by this morning and really wants it. He said he'd be
back this afternoon with the money. You'd better buy it now."
Buy low, sell high.
