charging question

My 88 80q needed a jump after I got gas today.  Took it to Advance Auto Parts 
where they replaced a battery that was under warrantee.  

I asked for a charging system test after that, and got the word that my 
alternator was also bad.  Of course, they position the screen away from the 
customer so as to prevent any hard pressing questions like, "So, why exactly is it 
bad?"

Anyway, I was about to give the car some rest after driving it home, but 
decided to run a voltmeter on the car.  Looking at 12.4 volts or so with the 
battery in the car, approx 13.4 volts with the car running and 13.3 volts under an 
increased load -- fans running lights on, etc.

Does this sound like an alternator that needs to be replaced?  Voltage 
Regulator?  Or, should I leave it alone, I will be fine?
