Screw 2 or 3 long bolts on the flange.
Screw them to the case (put a block between the bolt and the tranny to protect it) until the flange come out.
I did it on my 90 1988, and i used bars on my 100Q.

Subject: 89 80 trans drive flange replacemnt

I'm replacing the transmission on my 80 due to diff or pinion bearing
failure in the old one. The replacement trans I got has different size
drive flanges on it (larger,) so I need to swap them out. It's a 012 2WD
trans. I can't get them out. I looked for a bolt in the center but there
isn't one. I tried popping them out like a CV joint in a car with slip in
drive shafts (with a two foot screwdriver,) but they aren't budging. I
unbolted the housing on the bad trans, but drive flange holds it in, which
leads me to believe it is a pop in unit, I just need a slide hammer to pull
it out. Am I barking up the right tree or is there a special technique to
    get the sucker out?

Next question: does anyone have a vacuum diagram for a 89 Audi 80 4
cyl? I discovered a few loose hoses and a few bad ones while removing the
transmission (which is probably the reason for my hard starting problem,
one large hose leading right to the intake had large holes in it.)
