> Well, I've got a little bad news for you. At least here in the USA,
there will be no 05 Passat Wagon 1.8T 4Motions with manual
tranies. Yes, there were 04s, but for 05 you can only get 05 Passat
Wagon 1.8T 4Motion witht eh 5-spd tip. All of us over at Club B5 are
totally bummed.
Indeed? Edmund's lists it:
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/volkswagen/passat/100474339/prices.html?tid=edmunds.n.mipmake.pricetable.num17.1.volkswagen*
VW USA lists it:
http://www.vw.com/passatwagon/features_us.htm
(4motion available at additional charge, 5-sp manual tranny standard
(limited quantities on GLX, but it's the GLS we're discussing)).
Of course, these aren't installable options---are you saying that they
just aren't going to build more than about 3 GLS 1.8T quattro wagons?
Or that all the 2005 ones are spoken for? Or that they're lying? Or
that I can't read? :)
What pisses me off is that this would be my dream car if it had:
1) Good traditional German red/red/red dash lighting, instead of that
blue crap (yeah, it's pretty, but damn distracting).
2) They didn't play stupid games with the options, like making the GLS
(the engine I want) not available with the climate control. Also,
in 2004 only the W8 was available with headlight washers, and in
2005 they don't talk about that at all, which I assume means they
don't have it at all... Perhaps I could retrofit one from a W8.
3) I'd love to get it with the diesel. Probably when the US finally
cleans up the diesel supply...
I guess I'll have to keep Hyatt alive for a few more years.
