Paul Royal solved this problem handily- he bought a small trailer
from Home Depot, spent a day or two cutting teak and staining
it...and now has a great looking trailer for everything from runs to
the dump to carting 8 tires plus practically every tool he owns to
track events. When he's hauling something larger than the trailer,
the walls come up off the post holes.

I think they're all of ~$500 and light enough that, even fully
loaded, they can be moved by one person without much fuss. They also
tend to have pretty good resale- my father sold his teeny little one
for more than he paid for all the pieces (he built a tire and bike
rack, and added a large plastic cargo box).

Oh, and since the trailer doesn't weigh much, you can get one of
those wimpy hitches that detaches well behind the bumper. That way,
none of your ricer friends will think you're uncool for actually
using a Fuji Heavy Industries vehicle for something utilitarian.

Might get some strange looks at the dump, though.
