91 Coupe Quattro Window Regulator

Well -- The drivers side cable finally broke.

Due to the cost and lack of availability of this part I was going to
try to fix this one myself.

Anyone BTDT on this one ??

I have the door panel off and I am wondering if I can remove the
entire regulator WITH the window attached ??

I am going to try to repair the cable myself and thought that
alignment may be easier if I keep the window as is.
