Here's my limited experience with these cars.
They put out light white exhaust.whether its water or turbo related, both the 
sedan and the avant (rebuilt head) do this.

The sedan at start up puts out a puff of thicker white smoke.  (turbo 
related) AFAIK.
Then no more................

Both these cars have 150K on them.
I'm either the second, third or fourth owner...........
