Damn Jason, I really hate to hear this. I'll be on the watchout for
that guy next time I'm in Redondo.

I hate so say it but I don't think Michael knew as much about Audi's as he
claimed to. Looking at the invoices he gave me, he has a big pocket book and
a fat mechanic.

It really sounds like you have a blown HG. Not the end of the world,
but it is a PITA to do on a newly purchased car. I guess I'd look at
the positive points, these are all good reasons to upgrade:)

I agree, I started looking into it this afternoon.

Do a new HG, use headstuds if you can, that way you're ready for later ;)

I was looking on the motorgeeks web page and couldn't tell if there is an
upgraded HG for the 3B. Is the AAN better/compatible?
It looked like most everybody was happy with the ARP studs. Where is the
best place to purchase those?

Brakes, well, think about doing a BIRA sys 1 with used calipers to get
the price down.

For the moment the rotors are in ok shape, so I'm going to do the pads and
break lines. Next year I'll do the sys 1. I do remember reading in the
forums that the system 1 was no longer available. Anyone know if there is
any truth to this?

Stromung exhausts are awesome, but expensive so you might just have
something custom bent up.

The exhaust is last on the list, I'm glad I don't have to pass emissions out
here in Dacono.

This afternoon I went into town and pulled the plugs. Found h3 of the 5 to
be black on one side and clean on the other. So I was guessing coolant. I
fired up the car for kicks and grins, much to my surprise no smoke. Revved
it up and still no smoke. Now I'm wondering is this a heat related problem?
I guess I'll have to wait till Monday to find out.
