Torque control arm bushings w/car on the ground?

Well, you don't have to use "the ground," but if the control arms are 
not in their "rest" position when tightened, there will be a nasty 
preload on the rubber that will tear them apart in no time.

I have done it on ramps (quite easy), and also on a lift, using a 
muffler jack thing to lift the tire before torquing.

And my cars don't eat control arm bushings, so maybe this helps.
