PS. Here are some websites for 5 cylinder power mods:
http://www.intendedacceleration.com
http://www.2bennett.com
http://www.audiquattroparts.com
http://www.mswanson.com/%7Ejgreen/car_home.html - Nothing sold here, but
lots of good info, Jim Green is a lister here and currently his car is
officially faster then mine...but I hope to fix that as soon as I can get
some numbers on paper ;-).
There are plenty more, but I cant seem to think of them ATM. Be advised
though that the 5 cylinder engine is one of the best engines ever made, it
can take massive ammounts of abuse without even hinting at sneezing. Again,
mine is nearly 500hp on stock internals, and it has over 200,000 miles on
it. Jim Green has about 430hp (right Jim?), and again on stock bottom end
internals. The twin cam 20v engine is even stronger, there's at least one
report of a guy who has 650hp on a daily driven street car. Hans Dalhback of
Dahlback racing as another example took the 1.8l 4cyl OUT of his Golf to
install a 20 valve 5 cylinder, which now has OVER 700hp.
