Indeed so, but lifters do get worn (seen plenty on Opel engines), when
their contact surface becomes scored od concave at all, and only those
that have flat top surface, without any visible damage should be cleaned
and reused. The job of inspecting, cleaning and priming takes time, and
lifter set is relatively cheap, so routinely one would change the set
instead. Saying that, I've cleaned many lifters on my own cars.

Support the MMO, but one would need to get MMO out of the system
including the oil rad, which can be a messy job. Shorter oil change
intervals, or o/filter change and top up every 5K, and oil every 10K
(correct o/filter and grade of preferably synthetic oil), and keeping
oil at good level just below the top mark can help a great deal.
