[A6] 3369 tool?

I'm reading about timing belt service procedures in the Bentley. It
talks about moving the lock carrier into the service position. One
thing that seems to be key in this is the 3369 tool It looks like it
supports the lock carrier out several inches from its normal position
to give access to the front of the engine. Anyone have specs on this
tool? (I'd like to make a couple). I saw a pair on e-bay for $40... 
They just look like some bolts with sleeves over most of the
threads... what length? what thread?
